Prayer is essential to Christian life.\u00a0 Jesus Christ himself prayed and taught others to pray. Prayer is a dialogue with God. It can be spoken or silent, carried on in the quiet of our hearts; it can be an awareness and remembrance of his name, his existence, his power, and his love.<\/p>\n

Christians pray privately, at home, at meals, etc. to enable themselves to know God and be made capable of accomplishing his will.\u00a0 In prayer at church, we unite our concerns and ourselves to the prayer of the whole Church, to the eternal prayer of Christ, the Holy Mother of God, the saints, and the brothers and sisters of our own church community.<\/p>\n
